What is Article marketing.
It’s a process where you write an article with the proper keywords, proper title and proper text body, where it will give the reader helpful advice or tips on something they want to learn about. Then when giving the reader this advice and tips, at the end of your post in the comments box, you’re allowed to have two out going links, an example would be your website or blog.
In this section you could offer some more free advice or a free eBook. Example, where the words FREE EBOOK are written you would hyperlink the words free ebook, this then leave the reader wanting to click through to your website or blog to get your free ebook. Also in this section you would place your second link which would be your naked url leading them back to your website or blog.
That’s the aim of writing an article, to get the reader back to you blog and also leaving a backlink, backlinks are what the search engines come looking for, they want to see backlinks from other places like article marketing sites, website, blogs, forums and other forms of websites, this gives your site credibility, in return gets you a higher ranking which leads to more free traffic.
Boy! Don’t you just love to here the free traffic bit where you don’t have to use the likes of googles ppc or yahoo’s paid search terms or msn. Here don’t get me wrong, the paid searches will work, but if you don’t watch yourself with the paid options you can get a very nasty bite, leaving you out of pocket and scratching your head wondering where did I go wrong. Anyway ppc’s a different area altogether. I’ll do a post on this some other time, for now lets concentrate on the freebies
Getting back to what I mentioned above, the more backlinks especially with authority sites will get the ball rolling, someone once asked me this, how many articles do i have to write. Do i have to create one every day. The answer I gave was, the more the merrier at the start, but remember this you don’t want to be doing to many, if you upload article after article say three or four a day, search engines think your trying to spam them and that will only have a negative effect. Sometimes in this case the opposite is true, less is better. You don’t want to set off any triggers with the search engines by throwing a number of articles at them daily, spread it out over the weeks.
I would stick to about four to five articles a week.
A great tool i found to take care of a lot of the work and get things done in record time is the Magic Article Rewriter. This tool knocks off hours of your time and gets the job done perfect.
If your blog or website is new, writing a few articles every week helps you move up the rankings. Once you get your site up and running and have targeted visitors coming to your blog on a daily bases, the momentum will do the rest on it’s own, so you can back off the articles a little to say once or twice a week and concentrate on other forms of traffic. Then when these other form of traffic starts to boost your credibility you can knock it down to about once every two weeks, you get the picture here articles get the ball rolling, when you start to see traffic you can start to back off a little.
OK! That out of the way, you’re wondering where do i start. Ezine articles is a good place to start, it’s probably the most recognised of them, but there are plenty more, just do a google search and you’ll find them.
Now, just like starting your website, the same principles apply here. First off you want a few keywords for your article that are related to what your website is about. longtail keywords are probably best here, a longtail keyword is a combination of three or more keywords, I prefer to stick to three if i can, but if you need to use more that’s fine.
Use the google keyword tool to search for the keywords it’s free to use , when you find them copy them into notepad and start looking for their competition, the way to do this is to take one of the keywords at a time, put it into googles search box, make sure to put it in {“quotes”} then hit enter. Google will then bring you back the results for that exact keyword/s, and the competition for them, you’ll see this competition just below the search box. Putting your
keywords in quotes gives you the exact figure.
Staying on competition, you’ll want the competition to be no more than 15000 to 20000 thousand and that has a relatively high daily search result. If you can find any keywords that are even lower, say 5000 go for it . This is because it will leave your job a whole lot easier to get ranked on the first page of google, hey that’s what your objective is here. Once you find your targeted keyword, embed it in the article title. Then start your body copy and insert it two till three times along with the other keywords you found.
In the comments box at the bottom of your article you’re allowed to insert a hyperlink and your URL, I explained in paragraph one about hyperlinks and URLs if you want to go over this again. So! You’ll want to place your hyperlink and blogs URL here that links back to your website or blog. Then upload your article and your done, sit back and watch the traffic role in.
That’s it simply, right, seriouslly it’s not that difficult. Once you start doing this a time or two, you’ll be flying.
Hope this helped. Please leave any comments below, I like to get feedback on how people are doing.
All the best Eamon.
