The FLV Embed Plug-in Which Works A Treat…
It’s been a while since I’ve last been blogging – so I thought I’d set aside half an hour today and concentrate on getting one done. The reason I haven’t been blogging as much, is because I’ve been headlong in to creating products and that can really use up your time
, but it is also what every marketer should be gearing themselves towards by moving forward in that direction.
Here’s two of them products that are completed…
http://www.understandingnichemarketing.com/
http://www.ebookcreationsimplified.com/
There’s another on the way too “sales pages explained” where I’ll be going into detail on which angle to approach a sales page – it’s about a week away before it’s finished and once it is…I’ll post it on my blog.
Here’s some questions that I found when on the warrior forum…
…people were asking to know how to embed video on to their blogs. Some threads varied in their questions of what way they wanted to embed the video, some were complaining about uploading a YouTube video where they were needing to use the Visual and then switch to the html to maybe upload their auto-responder code which was in html; but it kept striping the code out, leaving them having to start over again. I know how annoying this can be…especially for a beginner that can’t find an answer or remedy to fix it.
I did a video on this a few months back where it showed a way of getting around this; you may or may not have seen it.
But there were also those that were looking to know how to use some kind of a plug-in, as an alternative to using YouTube. The first video I done on my blog was about YouTube and how to get a way around not having to use YouTube’s (or any other Video sites) html code. So I’ve recently done another video on this and uploaded it to my “Weekly IM Success Journal” showing both methods (1). YouTube and (2). The FLV Embed plug-in.
If you’re not already using the plug-in, you can click the link below and view the video on the next page…
I hope you enjoy the video, if so leave me a comment and let me know or give it a facebook like or tweet.
All the best for now,
Eamon.

Hey Eamon, I know exactly what you mean about the code striping. What a pain in the ass that was. Update 3.1 seems to have fixed the issue, but I’m still dubious mate.
I am still manually embedding links, but I just might take a look at the plugin.
Thanks for sharing Eamon

Hi Dan
Thanks for stopping by, yeah I hope version 3.3.1 stands up to the change, but as you say, it’s maybe a little early to be relaying on it just yet – better safe than sorry
…some people might check in on their post in a few days and see their video missing
I use the FLV for a lot of things Daniel and have found it very useful and sturdy so far.
Thanks again for stopping by,
Eamon.

Hi Eamon, great minds think alike mate. I’ve just launched my new product and it is also about writing eBooks
It is time consuming creating products and unfortunately we only have so many hours in the day. I’ve not been blog hopping as much as I’d have liked to have been but am on a mission today
I remember your video on embedding YT videos on our blogs. You included for the challenge I held last year and I think its great I still use your method as it’s better than any other I’ve seen and make it so easy to work in WordPress.
I’ll be having another video challenge soon Eamon, Feb 29th through to March 29th and will be offering a free licence to both Camtasia and Snagit. For now i am concentrating on getting the product out there
Speak soon mate, Barry

Hi Barry
Thanks for stopping by.
It’s funny I’ve just been over leaving a comment on your blog wishing you all the best with your new product and came back to check my email where I found you’d left one on mine talking about the same thing, lol.
Yeah Barry there’s a lot of new comers still looking to know the right way to properly construct and eBook, so you should have no problem shifting copies on that. I had a few on my list waiting for me to create a product on this, so that’s what give me the idea for “eBook Creation Simplified.”
Best of luck with it Barry
All the best

Hey Eamon,
Great blog post!
I had no idea you could embed a YouTube video in that way, so you’ve definitely taught me something today
Your style if teaching in the video is very good too! Non hypey and straight to the point which is just the way I like it.
Not had a chance to look at your new products in any detail yet, but i can see you’ve put in the hard work. Congrats.

Hi Des
Thanks for your comment.
Yup! It’s a neat little trick Des
…it used to bug me for a long time the way we’d switch back and forth, where it would strip the code on us, I know people are saying the new 3.3.1 version has it sorted, but it’s too early to tell – so I think I’ll just stick to the way I’m doing it by grabbing the link.
In fact when we think about it…even with the new change saying they have uploading html sorted… the other ways a nice short code every time
.
It dawned on me about a year back when I wanted to change a few things on my posts that I was going to mess everything up, so I knew that lifting an actual link from our own servers or AS3 worked… why wouldn’t it work for YouTube and other video sharing sites, so it’s left it now when evrey I want to go back and make changes I can without having to ever upload the code again, PHEW!
Thank again Des
Take care,
Eamon.

Hi Eamon
Great post, not seen embedding done this way before, so thanks for that.
Just thought i’d stop bye from John Thornhill’s blog and say hi.
I notice Eamon you don’t have an opt in box on your about me page, this page is one of the biggest for getting people on your list, is there any reason why you dont have one?
Hope you dont mind the advice, it made a big difference to my signups when i added one.
Good luck

Hi Kevin
Thanks for stopping by…it’s a neat little way to get around wordpress stripping out the code every time. Saying that I think wordpress 3.3.1 has that sorted, but I wouldn’t be so sure, so I think I’ll stick to grabbing the link for now
.
Yeah the opt-in, I used to have the optin on my last theme on my about page – but when I switched themes it was a little messed up, but that’s sorted and I had completely forgot to go back in and add it back on, so thanks for the heads up Kevin
All the best,
Eamon.
