Googles raising their game a little, better for us

They’ve now introduced a few more options that is going to make a big difference…especially where we can now enter into a group discussion with up to 9 other people and show each other our computer screens, currently these options are still in testing mode, but they are really on it here and are asking for peoples feed back.
- The fact that we are now able to screen share has changed things dramatically in our favour…this is a biggie, now we can share our desktop/laptop with the people who are in the “Hangout” I can see this having an effect on the Webinar platform…where some are just charging ridiculous prices just to be able to show screen sharing. I’m sure there are plenty of groups out there that meet up every week to discuss things on a Webinar say! Or the fact that you may offer a one on one with a lucky contestant who has won a consultation with you on a walk through on how things are done….what I’m saying here is social media is going to change the way things are done online.
- Naming your hangout, you can see from the image above…we’re now getting the chance to give the hangout a “unique name,” so the name always says it all; doesn’t it
. Say you wanted to start a hangout and name the topic “Online Beginners,” then that means if it were open to the public, your followers can view the name and see if it would be of interest for them to get involved or if they weren’t a beginner they could simply pass on, it opens up the stage for people with a large following that want to talk about a specific topic and give it that name, others followers can then see the name and skip it if it doesn’t appeal to them.
P.S. another big one here is “Google docs” I know a lot of people outsource and usually use jing and other software to get the point across, now being able to use Google docs in a Hangout – you can have a live one on one with your outsourcing team, showing them directly how to go about doing certain tasks.
So I’m loving the new changes G+ are making to the hangouts; lets hope they get even better
.
See yaaaa all over at a Google hangout, lol.

Hi Eamon
Sorry its taken me a while to get over here mate, but still playing catch up, following my week of dissasters with my blog!
I have to say Eamon; when you first introduced me to Google Hangout and we had our chat with it for the first time; I thought wow! not only can you talk and see the person you’re having a conversation with, but you can share information live on screen!
As you say I can see this having a tremendous impact on “one-on-one” and “group meetings”
When is our next “Hangout scheduled Eamon!
Take care, catch up soon
Ian

Hi Ian,
No worries mate, I understand the craic
Definitely! This is going to have a big impact with ones online, I love it, I find it easy too, unlike some of the other software out there that you’d nearly think they were trying to leave it awkward on purpose, lol.
Ian…I’ll pop online now if you want, lol. Seriously though, give me a shout when you’re free – cuz I’d love to try out this screen sharing option and see if we can get the YouTube videos to work this time around.
All the best Mate ~ Eamon.

Hi Eamon,
Like Ian, late due to blog issues. Funny really coz it was Ian and myself trying to solve them together for over a week
You did mention this to me before Eamon and I was intriged to see what it was.
Having read the post mate Ideas just started forming in my head. This really could shake it up with all the high priced stuff like you said but more than that Eamon it gives the little guy a fair crack to have a go him/herself. Just think of what a person can get across, like you say pointing things out to outsources, then there’s: support = bonus, support for products.
Can you switch from one screen to another? For problem solving?
We’ll have to get on one Eamon and you can show me the ropes mate
Take care mate,
Barry

There’s some get features in the hangout, Barry…there’s no problems with jumping on one, I’ll go now if you want, lol.
I know I asked you to do one before, but stuff came up on my end, evenings doesn’t always suit, you know when people starting coming over and what not
Yeah you’re right on it Barry with the things we’ll be able to offer – like you say…support = bonus, support for products and so on.
Thanks for stopping by Barry and mate, you’ll probably get a follow up email on the comment, if you do see it in time…I’m free for the next couple of hours, if you wanna jump on let me know, probably be floating around Facebook, ha.
P.S. if you haven’t clicked on hangout yet over there, it’ll ask you to allow a plugin, but you know the craic after that, coz you’re an old savvy with the plugins mate

Hi!
I’ve just come across this article and I think there are some great ideas in it. I’ve tried using Google Docs with my outsourcing team, and also other platforms, but they are only good for getting my ideas through to them, I can’t really monitor their work, since it is not done in the document itself. I’m actually using this employee monitoring software which gives me input about all their achievements and activities during work-hours. Nevertheless, I think Google is doing a great job providing us with cloud services that really make storing data and interacting with colleagues easier than ever before.
Thanks for your tips, and I also hope I could give some valuable input with sharing my own ways!
Best wishes,
Leonard
